Hi! This post came up in my alerts this morning because you talk about "crimping". I really enjoyed this blog post - I will have to pick up a copy of your book. I notice that you live in the Bay area. I hope that you can find time to come up to Sonoma for our Glass Art & Bead Festival - August 2 & 3.

Best Wishes,

Hi Kimberly,

Thanks for the plug! We appreciate your high opinion of our work.

It's hard to find that somebody doesn't like your book when you've poured your heart into it, but any book that comes from a specific perspective will disappoint those who want it to be something different. We took a bit of criticism for not making Pagan Prayer Beads more scholarly, even though it's a how-to book! The important thing is that Bead one, Pray Too reach people who benefit from reading and using it, and I think you're doing a fine job of that.

Blessings,
Clare

This is such an enjoyable post, it really make me feel like I'm reliving my BEA experience, from the book discoveries to the unexpected meetings with personal idols! Interesting to hear about the touching experience you had with Jewish Lights. My relationship with them is nowhere near so deep, but I did get to interview Kate Treworgy for my Jewish literature podcast, The Book of Life. This year at BEA I interviewed lots of publishers about their new and upcoming Judaic titles - Kate talks on the podcast about a Wild West graphic novel, Rabbi Harvey Rides Again. Such fun!

Congratulations on Shawn's graduation. You *should* be proud. Raising a great kid is not easy. It doesn't happen by accident, you know. :D May his future plans be blessed!

Kimberly,
I'm enjoying Bead One, Pray Too so much. The Pearls of Life beads are entirely new to me, and I'm very drawn to them and the intent of each bead. I've visited the wreathoflife.com site to read more about them. I plan to try my hand at making some, but I would also like to buy some to support the Tara Projects effort described at that site. Do you know if they are readily available in the US? I have not found a source on the web and the sources at the wreathoflife site are outside the US.

Please post more pictures of Pearls of Life if you have them. I would love to see what others are creating.

Thank you for your fine book and informative blog!

Sherry!
(sorry kjwinston - it's been more like decades than years since Sherry and I have been in touch)
Where are you?! I'm still in/near Topeka. My baby just graduated from high school and my oldest will have her fourth baby in a few days. Go to my website: geocities.com/dlherrmann - see me in lederhosen!!
My work's been published in a dozen countries now and four languages. Email: dlherrmann@yahoo.com

kjwinston - I don't know how to upload photos here, can't take one of the beads for a while, lost one at the camp where we had Baha'i School, string on another broke.
